Appreciate the help

To the Editor:

I acknowledge all the people who have helped me over the past four years while I was at St. Johnsbury Academy during basketball season watching our two grandsons play and/or helping as a student manager. Much help was needed and given assisting me in and out of the car, in and out of the gym and with the heavy doors, in and out of the restroom. If this had not happened, it would have been nearly impossible for me to have gone to the game I have enjoyed since 1950. (The first basketball game I ever saw was as a member of Concord High School's basketball team while on the bench.)

Family, friends, St. Johnsbury Academy's Field House staff, and many people that I did not know, and probably did not know me, joyfully helped.

By going to the games, it gave me an opportunity to chat with former students, players I had coached, opponents, fellow teachers, coaches, referees, teammates and friends. Some of these people I had not seen for many, many years.
