We prayed in Groton

To the Editor:

At town meeting in Groton this year we continued our countless decades' tradition of offering prayer. We do not orchestrate prayer but open it up to anyone and everyone wanting to offer prayer or words of encouragement.

Some years we have none offered and some years one or more choose to pray. This year we had three people recognized by the moderator. One woman read a Robert Frost poem, a local minister prayed and another citizen offered his prayer.

I trust the Constitution is holding up just fine.
