Who do you trust?
To the Editor:
We now know that the NSA (National Security Agency) is capable of and has, in fact, monitored, recorded and stored the telephone and Internet communication of innocent American citizens. We are being told that this is part of the cost of doing business when it comes to protecting us from terrorists and that we should trust the federal government to not abuse the power that this information gives them.
Does anyone remember recent revelations that the IRS and several other federal agencies under the current administration have used their power to target and harass people and groups who disagree with this administration's policies?
What's that old saying about "fool me once"?
God bless Edward Snowden for revealing this outrageous intrusion on the privacy of American citizens.
