DERBY — Derby Elementary School closed Monday after someone at the school tested positive for COVID-19, prompting state health officials to launch contact tracing of staff members, students and family members who are potentially affected.

The Brighton Recreation Department hosted a Pond-a-Thon on Sept. 2. Fourth-grade Derby Elementary School student Jeremy Glodgett Jr. won his division in the 2.5 mile race with a time of 28:09. Jeremy is the son of Jeremy Glodgett Sr. and Jessica Ortiz.
