DANVILLE -- Darren Pritchard tallied 17 points to lead Danville to its first victory off the season Monday night, as the Indians downed Pine Ridge, 51-42.

Pine Ridge#039;s Taylor Tomasi was the game#039;s top scorer with 21 points.

quot;It felt very nice to get the first victory behind us. I feel this win sparked the team,quot; said Danville coach Jim Nelson.

quot;We were a little frustrated coming in to this game but the boys stepped up and took control of the game. We missed some shots and committed turnovers but defense and rebounding was in our favor.quot;

quot;I think if this continues our offense will follow. We have a long break before our next game, giving us time to improve and solidify our game plan,quot; added Nelson. quot;I was really happy with the energy and intensity they gave tonight.quot;

Danville (1-3) will host Williamstown on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 7:30 p.m.
