Sunfish Races - The annual Joe's Pond Sunfish races started on Saturday, with the first annual Burt Morrison Fund Raiser.

Morrison was a classical winner of the Caledonia races at Joe's Pond for many years. So in order to keep the tradition of Morrison going and to honor the Joe's Pond legend, the Fund Raiser was started.

Taking first place in the race was Bill Hamilton. The respective second- and third-place finishers - Catherine Morrison-Dodge and Patricia Morrison-Welch - are daughters of Morrison.

The annual Caledonian Cup races began on Sunday. The day started off with a bang, as there were excellent winds. The first race took only 23 minutes, and the two races were completed in just over an hour.

There were a lot of spectators watching the races, but more participants are needed. People are encouraged to come Sundays at 11 a.m. and participate in the two races held weekly. Both singles and doubles are welcome.

Bob Colombo came out on top in the first race, followed by Chris Wilson, Lee Erdmann and Ray Rouleau.

In the second race, first place went to Wilson, with Colombo in second, Rouleau third and Erdmann fourth. These races will continue all summer, and the finals will be held in August.
