The votes are in and North Country soccer’s Charli Kellaway and Ian Applegate are the Caledonian-Record Athletes of the Week (Oct. 11-17).

Kellaway, a sophomore, scored the second-half equalizer — tucking a shot from 20 yards out under the crossbar — as North Country forged a 1-all draw with unbeaten Stowe.

As voted on by the public, Kellaway tallied 43.7% of the vote to beat out fellow AOW candidates Delaney Raymond of Lyndon field hockey, Anya Kennedy of Lake Region soccer, Sophia Shippee of St. Johnsbury soccer and Madison McLaren of Profile soccer.

Applegate, a senior midfielder, netted four goals and added an assist as North Country ran past Randolph 6-1 on senior day.

As voted on by the public, Applegate tallied 43.2% of the vote to top fellow AOW candidates Liam Laidlaw of St. Johnsbury soccer, Grady Hadlock of Littleton soccer, Nathaniel Chumbes of Woodsville soccer and Tyler Hicks of White Mountains golf.

Online voting at began Monday, Oct. 18 and closed at midnight on Thursday, Oct. 21.

The Caledonian-Record covers seven high schools in New Hampshire’s North Country (Littleton, White Mountains, Profile, Lisbon, Woodsville, Groveton and Colebrook) and seven in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom (St. Johnsbury, Lyndon, Danville, Lake Region, North Country, Hazen and Blue Mountain).

This week, and every week during the three high school sports seasons, members of the public can vote online for a top girls athlete and a top boys athlete.

Next week’s nominees will be announced at on Monday, Oct. 25.
