Boys Athlete Of The Week (May 31-June 6): Blue Mountain’s Evan Dennis

The votes are in and Blue Mountain baseball’s Evan Dennis is the Caledonian-Record Boys Athlete of the Week (May 31-June 6).

The sophomore right-hander tossed six shutout innings, allowing one hit and fanning 13 as the Bucks blanked Poultney 4-0, punching their ticket to the D-IV semifinals.

As voted on by the public, Dennis tallied 26.2% of the vote to beat out fellow AOW candidates Bryon Noyes of Lyndon track and field, Gabe Hatch of St. Johnsbury track and field, Josh Finkle of Littleton baseball and Brayden White of White Mountains baseball.

Online voting at began Monday, June 7 and closed at midnight on Thursday, June 10.

The Caledonian-Record covers seven high schools in New Hampshire’s North Country (Littleton, White Mountains, Profile, Lisbon, Woodsville, Groveton and Colebrook) and seven in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom (St. Johnsbury, Lyndon, Danville, Lake Region, North Country, Hazen and Blue Mountain).

This week, and every week during the three high school sports seasons, members of the public can vote online for a top girls athlete and a top boys athlete.

Next week’s nominees will be announced at on Monday, June 14.
