Girls Athlete Of The Week (May 3-9): Danville’s Carlie Beliveau

The votes are in and Danville softball’s Carlie Beliveau is the Caledonian-Record Girls Athlete of the Week (May 3-9).

The senior second baseman went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs as white-hot Danville powered past Lake Region 26-4.

As voted on by the public, Beliveau tallied 42.5% of the vote to beat out fellow AOW candidates and softball players Lexi Duranleau of St. Johnsbury, Brydie Barton of Lyndon, Hailey Pothier of North Country and St. Johnsbury track and field’s Hannah Angell.

Online voting at began Monday, May 10 and closed at midnight on Thursday, May 13.

The Caledonian-Record covers seven high schools in New Hampshire’s North Country (Littleton, White Mountains, Profile, Lisbon, Woodsville, Groveton and Colebrook) and seven in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom (St. Johnsbury, Lyndon, Danville, Lake Region, North Country, Hazen and Blue Mountain).

This week, and every week during the three high school sports seasons, members of the public can vote online for a top girls athlete and a top boys athlete.

Next week’s nominees will be announced at on Monday, May 17.
