LISBON — In a battle of Panthers, Lisbon held off Moultonborough, 44-37 to claim the season opener for the northern Panthers on Wednesday night. Chloe Houston led the effort with 14 points and eight rebounds.

“Chloe had a good game and Grace Kaiser on the boards,” said LRS coach Nikki Woods. “Overall this is a more confident group and we played well together. We put it up today and scored more points tonight then we did in most of last season. We’ll take the win. A good start for us.”

Lisbon had plenty of shots and held an 11-7 lead after the first quarter. The Matt Swedberg-coached Panthers had Lauren Shipp refuse to let the hosts get far way with seven of her 17 points in the first half.
