BRISTOL — The White Mountains Regional Spartans got balanced scoring in taking their second Division III girls hoops win is as many starts.

Lexi Welch (13) and Aviara Challinor (11 points, nine rebounds, eight steals) powered the visitors. Jaycee Murray (seven), Makenzie Treamer and Lily Kenison combined for 19 more as WMR expanded a 25-22 halftime lead into 41-28 going into the final quarter.

“We did just enough tonight to stay ahead of each run they threw at us,” WMR coach Brent Covell said. “We again caused 20-plus turnovers but couldn’t finish. Lexi was the girl who led our team vocally and with points tonight. She had seven rebounds as well. We were in foul trouble with four starters in the first half which created more minutes for our young bench, which stepped up and held the lead going in at half.”
