Oak is a retriever but not the type I want. I have two wood duck decoys that stay in our little trout pond in the woods throughout the summer and early fall. Stay used to be the operative word but no more.

Oak, our 15 month old St. Bernard, thinks they are play things. He swims out and hauls the decoys to shore, anchors and all, then tosses them in the air and treats them like toys. I scold him, untangle the lines and put them back in the middle of the pond. There they stay until our next visit when he again drags them to shore. He seems to think it is a game. I do not.
