BURLINGTON — Danville trailed 3-0 in the third inning of Saturday’s Division IV baseball championship when Tim White stepped into the batters box.

With his team looking for a spark, White hit a chopper to short and sprinted his butt off to beat the throw, and when the ball got past the first baseman he lost a shoe breaking for second. Moments later White called his own number and stole third, afterwards letting out a roar, which fired up the Indians’ dugout.
