LYNDON CENTER - The Lyndon State College Lady Hornets had a successful weeked winning two games. On Saturday the Hornets routed Hampshire College, 97-31 and on Sunday they upended Thomas College, 66-56.
On Saturday Jamie Eaton led the way with 22 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Ashely Golden with 16, Shauna Hale with 14 and Jen Garcia with 12. Garcia also had eight rebounds, five steals, one block and nine assists.
On Sunday Eaton finished Lyndon's offensive attack with 30 points, with Garcia chipping in with 10 points.
Garcia had 14 rebounds to lead the Hornets in that department, with Eaton picking up 11 carroms.
The win on Sunday was the first time in four years that the Hornets have come away with a win over Thomas College.

The Hornets are now 2-0 and return to action for the Rivier Tournament on Saturday and Sunday at a location to be announced.

LYNDON CENTER - The Hornets opened their season with consecutive wins on Saturday and Sunday against Hampshire and Thomas Colleges. Kerry Lyons and Joe Layn each grabbed eight boards in the win over Hampshire. Adam Smith recorded five steals.
quot;On Saturday our pressure defense created a lot of turnovers,quot; said LSC coach Tim Kelly. quot;We played well in the first half but came out a little flat in the second. A real bonus was getting to play 15 players.quot;
On Sunday the Hornets put forth a strong defensive effort and followed that up with balanced scoring to upend Thomas College and earn their second victory in as many tries.
The Hornets are now 2-0 and return to action against Salva Regina on Saturday.
